it was a few people holding up letters saying get well soon iain...... a lot less than what we was all expecting, most was expecting a full on flag covering most of the east stand
to be fair i think the club should pay for a big masive one for the north stand to cover up the empty seats
those pieces of card were it? wow I thought they'd been made by the kids. very disappointing to be honest
I honestly didn't realise that "ET WEL SOON IA N" was the 'large banner' that had been organised. Was it provided by surridge and sponsored by "wak m th"?
RE: I honestly didn't realise Someones obviously made a decent effort. The point was made. Why don't you try something ya sen? You moaning lovely person!
Are you sure the problem isnt with your eyesight? Because I clearly saw 'Get Well Soon Iain' I admit that I was looking for a banner not a row of letters. However, the gesture was touching and the point was made and most of all I would imagine that it meant the world to Iain Hume and his family.
I watched it again on sky today and it did come across better on the TV than it did in the stadium. I think that people's confusion came from the fact that the club said a large banner was going to be shown in the stadium and then stated that it would be displayed just after kick off in front of the east lower when in reality it wasn't a banner, wasnt in front of the east stand and was actually being held up before they put the announcement over the tannoy to say it would be shown later.
The aim of the sign / banner was to target for the TV, so that Iain would see it. There was discussion of using the ponty with pieces of card to hold up saying the same thing in white on a red background. However, considering weather forecasts of siberian weather (wind, rain and snow) it was decided that this may fall flat, and that placing the cards in right place for it to work, if they got moved would be a logistical nightmare, and we would have needed a fair few volunteers to put them in place. Equally what would have happened where there were no people sat last night. The aim of getting it on Sky was achieved. Do we now need to think of something to keep Iain's spirits up at Forest and then reading.
Why can't we cover the empty section of the Kop with a giant flag that displays the legend "Chris Morgan is a dirty lovely person".
Would look nice on t' telly an all.

"think of something to keep Iain's spirits up at Forest and then reading" Buy Iain a high shelf to store his alcoholic beverages in the woods - then give him a book by Jackie Collins. Job done.
