For those who care for what Brian says..........

Just got off the phone to him, although he is relieved the fiasco is all over he is truely dissapointed to be leaving Barnsley. Especially in the manner he has.

He told me he would like me to thank everyone for an 'unbelievable' 3 years. With the promotion and the cup run he is very proud to have been part of the squad for those occasions. He's loved the fans and the banter he has recieved from them along with the support and praise. He wants to wish the club all the best for the future (for the fans).

It's a shame things couldnt have been different and he could have signed a new contract. He NEVER handed a transfer request in but unfortunately the club and him couldnt come to an amicable agreement. But thats life.

And thats straight from the horses mouth!

They offered him a new conract after the summer which was less than he and his agent flt he was worth. During the summer im sure they were trying to get rid of him to the highest bidder. They seem to have believed the paper talk and wanted millions and millions. When these inevitably did not come in the then tried to offer new contract. By then he was unhhappy and unsettled....the rest is history

 

Cheers for that..very diplomatic. There have been some fantastic times with him, lets hope for even better without him, and good luck to the lad. Hope SUFC gain promotion and he scored 30+, and gets international recognition.....should mean more cash for us eh?
