Think it was in the Times sad what's happening to clubs when there's so much money flying around at the top end of the game
Lancaster were left to ask our local league players to sign up after all their players left as they wernt getting paid, isnt it Scarborough who will be wound up unless they sell their ground this week
its sad to see so many smaller clubs struggling, whils the rich get richer the money is just pouring out of the game into the deep pockets of a few
Scarborough will be wound up I was listening to the radio up there the day it was announced. Creditors got tired, a winding up order was issued and the only way out was some sort of appeal, but the people on the radio basically said there would be no grounds for such an appeal. The board said the club would play out the rest of this season's fixtures and that will be it. I think the sale of the ground has already been arranged, houses will be built. The grand plan had previously involved a new stadium.
RE: Scarborough will be wound up They've reached an agreement with developers who'll make a downpayment on the ground which will pay off their debts. They'll then allow them to stay at the Theatre of Chips until planning permission is obtained, then the money to complete the purchase of it will go a long way to pay for a new ground.
That's the plan anyway!
