Imagine you have this week had new foreign owners come in at Barnsley. We have just won at Blackpool, and with Flicker we are on a roll. Not good enough for them, they want promotion and their own team. So they sack Flicker and fetch McCleish in to get promotion and push up the league. He asks for two players, first a top goal scorer , but he cannot read. He can score but cannot read. Next the club want a bit more for their top scorer, so they say no. Meanwhile we win 1 in Next seven matches. You could not make it up but Nottingham Forest have. Moral of the story, keep with what you know, hats off to Patrick Cryne.

It wasn't too long ago a lot of people didn't want new owners to come in if they were going to sack Hill.

Agreed mate. What sounded very distasteful straight after the Birmingham rout gradually became more and more tempting as we went on that abysmal run which brought Hill's tenure to an end, but after seeing what has happened at Forest, I am pretty sure that I do not want BFC in foreign hands (unless it is some Russians who I know personally!)

By the way, for anyone that points to Watford as a foreign takeover done the right way, remember it is still early days. I think they had one English starter on Saturday. Again, not the way I want us to go. My father-in-law stopped actively supporting Zenit when they started bringing piles of foreigners in - not through any sort of xenophobia, just because he said that he couldn't relate to a hodge-podge of Czechs, Portuguese, Koreans, Norwegians and so on coached by Czechs, Dutchmen and Italians. I absolutely see his point.
