Hello again. I asked you for your input for a preview I was writing, well it's been written, I'll post the link here in case any of you are interested. Thanks for your input, I went away and watched your games so far, your comments gave me some pointers as to what to look out for. Impressed with O Grady, why haven't I noticed him before? Apologies if anyone thinks I've been a bit ultra critical of your defensive style- just my opinions - which I do try to justify at least. Safe journey to anybody who's coming, hope you have a good day regardless of the result. Cheers, FB http://forestboffin.blogspot.co.uk/
Bloody hell, that's a bit in depth. If you're married, I bet your wife soon learnt not to ask if you enjoyed your tea.
Bloody hell.....that's impressive research. However, methinks you have a bit too much time on your hands???!!
I work nights - I'm a lorry driver. Nah, not really a lorry driver though lol. Thanks though, practicing for a writing career in the distant future hopefully.
Very detailed analysis FB and I think you're correct in all what you have said. Hopefully with the likes of Cranie, Nyatanga and Ramage all pushing for starts, we might just be a little more settled at the back. M'Voto lacks pace but is dominant in the air, whereas Wiseman is the opposite, hopefully we can install players with a balance of the 2. Not sure on the situation but Pedersen will be a great loss if he hasn't recovered in time from an injury he picked up for Norway on Tuesday. I feel O'Grady will be less effective without Peds alongside him, however he's a quality player who should thrive regardless. I fancy us to nick a draw. Maybe an early goal and then sustain pressure until a late equaliser.
Whitey will be having kittens. In that clip of the Blackpool game, the centre halves are spot on they're marking their men tight, they can't adjust. You're blaming the midfield yet saying they centre half should adjust? if they do they leave their own men. Its the midfielders fault.
Interesting that you've used a game where we conceded a last minute goal from a set piece and a game where we had 10 men for 80 minutes as your examples.
Is it not quite refreshing that a fan of an opposition team has actually taken the time to watch us, taken notes and analysed our tactics, setup and subsequent defensive frailties? Really good piece of work and let's give him some credit for basing his perception on actual footage which is more than what the media do
good write up , maybe we are playing a bit negatively compared to last season , but hopefully once we get our best team out we can play with more creativity
Enjoyed that. Kudos to you, FB, and good luck with your career. From a fellow blogger and night shift monkey.
Hi pal, good performance from your lot today, impressed. Re: the above, I possibly didn't explain myself properly - my bad. I meant that there were actually 2 problems - the midfield, AND the defenders didn't adjust. Your right hand centre-back was stood just out of shot (watch the vid) no doing anything. He should have marked the lad Mvoto was marking, and Mvoto should have closed the gap between him and the LCB. It's difficult to keep it as brief as possible when there's so much going off.
Forest were class today , and our defence was torn apart with there passing and our non marking , can see forest finally getting promoted this season , think we will be ok once we get crainie , pedersen fit
Very good read that, despite having only read it post match. I wonder it Flicker highlighted Forest's ability to use the wings and decided to play a back 4. Having seen our line up it looked obvious that it would be a 4-5-1 but Dawson didnt play centrally but played on the right with O'Brien switching from right to left and Jennings playing off O'Grady. Flicker has recently mentioned a new 'plan' that involves our players pressing less, I would imagine this is because of the problems you have highlighted. I haven't seen any real change though. You were right about it being an entertaining game and bang on with how we use O'Grady to link up the play. He often comes wide left and drops deeper so Kennedy can pick him out. He brings others into play before joining the other striker. That's how we attack in a nutshell. Barca utilised a pressing game under Guardiola in possibly the most technical league I the world. What do they do differently without the ball that makes it much more effective?
