Seen the 'lowlights' from the Brighton fiasco. Surprised we started with the Foster-Wiseman combo in central defence. Neither was that bad against Wolves, although Foster gave the impression of being a police officer on traffic duty for two of the goals. However, it is not just how the individuals play in a central pairing, it is how they read each other's game and that looked to be non-existent on Saturday. I would have Foster paired with Cranie for Brizzle, especially as Foster prefers right and Cranie left. The other key situation is holding midfielder in front of back four. I would drop Harewood to the bench and play five across the middle. Might even risk Hassell in the holding role in front of the back four, unless there is another play able to play there and who is fit. That might also release Mellis to be creative in the whole behind Davies. That would be my punt - oh! and Alnwick will be back in goal to headp-butt any forwards who dares comes into the six-yard box, so that's that sorted! On the other hand, it will be a home game, so would 4-4-2 be best? Please don't play Wiseman in central defence again!!!!
its a bit of a no win situation if saturday is anything to go by, we play 4-5-1 and get beat 3 nil there would be an outcry that we didnt try to win it, play 4-42 and get beat anyway with a powderpuff midfield... its a hard one and needs looking at on a game by game basis, if we are going to play 4-4-2 we need a better midfield 2 and the second striker that plays alongside davies needs to offer more to team than harewood did imo
