although Championship football has been gained, the club is still skint, it's not about transfer fees it's about wages, Shepherd, Cryne and Ritchie will, I'm sure, sign players good enough to keep us in this new league, consolidate and then perhaps when the club is financially secure we will go on to sign bigger names for a serious push at promotion, I personally would'nt mind a mid table finish, with a couple of good cup runs thrown in, good cup runs can earn clubs such as ours big money. Shepherd is no numpty, he's a realist, and I'm sure Ritchie will make the right signings to give us a foothold in the Championship.
I am inclined to agree We're rushing forward a bit - and it's a natural thing to do.
If the Barnsley board had followed the whims of the BBS we'd be in deep doo by now.
They're playing their cards close to their chest, not sounding off like loads of other clubs.
I firmly believe that, getting us as far as they have, they will not easily let go of the progress made. Sensible decisions will have to be balanced alongside a realistic budget.
And I am unanimous in that.

Ridsdale will outbid us on anybody we show interest in. With that in mind we should "target" a set of donkeys, get them relegated and into admin before the transfer window closes, snap up McPhail and Chopra for ten bob and put them on the bench for the duration of their contracts. There.
RE: Ridsdale will outbid us on anybody we show interest in. I feel for the first time in years the club is in safe hands,I'm sure at this moment players will have been signed and the club will make announcments when the time is right.Lets all be a little more patient I'm sure the club will make the right choices.
