On wednesday, according to the commentary, we played 4-5-1 with Howard in the middle, he had an excellent game, made a couple of chances, we won. Today it was back to the usual with Howard back on the left for much of the game, he created nothing and we lost. Hm, I think there could be a pattern there.
I thought for most of the game we did play 4-5-1, with Hungry Pete on the right and Disco on the left - same as Weds. I thought our failure to change that early today was partly responsible for the capitulation. Maybe it didn't help that SD told everyone yesterday that it would be the same, though I suppose it was pretty obvious.
We were certainly not playing 442 today In fact from what I heard on the radio regarding the plymouth match it was very similar. Devaney was crap today, the defence shocking. The whole team looked jaded but having said that 3 away wins on the trot was a big ask.
devaney dawdle And what about Devaney taking ages to get off the field when he was subbed, he didnt look too pleased and even the ref had to give him a persuasive shove. Could hardly have been timewasting! Dissent int ranks?
