I see that Alonso is now trying to "win" the F1 world championship off the track http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20531638 I hope he doesnt succeed as this would be a most unsatisfactory way to change the owner of the F1 title. The offence, if indeed it was one, its impossible to be sure from just the on board footage took place early in the race so had it been spotted at the time and a drive through applied Vettell would have still come up through the field into a position that gave him enough points - so I hope the FIA decide now to take no further action but as its Ferrari involved I am quite worried that they will give Alonso the title
What i dont understand is why it wasn't picked up during the race - its pretty blatant really. I agree it would be unsavoury to win it, but i can understand why they are thinking of lodging an appeal.
Cant see this changing anything, if you look to the left of the track, the green signal is flashing at the time that he is overtaking, but the yellow is still on on his car. But it is the green that counts. Ferrari clutching at straws really. Its a shame, because I honestly think Alonso would have been a more worthy winner.
I thought they had decided that it was a red and orange flag for slippery track which is why the light was constant and not flashing?
I couldn't be sure. But the FIA have said they don't think he has done anything wrong, which doesn't surprise me. It wouldn't look good on them should they start overturning things like that. There is no point looking for a balanced view from any BBC commentator, watching F1 on the BBC this year has sometimes been like watching Red Bull TV.
It had nothing to do with Ferrari. The FIA are the ones that brought it up. Mountain out of a molehill.
