Anyone watching it (it's live on ITV4 now)?

Thought I'd give it a chance but I almost turned off before the first race even started when they started talking about "fan boost". People can vote via social media with the 3 most popular drivers temporarily getting more power. What a truly dreadful idea. How to undermine an innovative and potentially interesting new formula before it starts.

Same thought from me too. Ive seen the testing and followed it all through its development since the first announcement about it when they hadnt even come up with any kind of car at all but the one thing that ive really detested all along has to be the idea of the more popular drivers getting boosts. What will actually happen is that a team or sponsor will employ people to boost their own drivers.

Fantastic idea for a sport totally ruined by a really **** gimmick.

Oh and the coverage by itv is terrible too

This statement stands up for pretty much every sport that they cover.

Yes, that too. I hope that young lad isn't a permanent fixture 'cos he's got nothing to say and says it badly. I've turned the sound off until the race starts.

None of them seem to have anything to say really. It would probably help if theyd bothered to learn anything about the sport instead of reading from a script
Did I miss a show earlier in the night or did they not actually bother showing qualifying?

Sounds like a quasi-scientific ingredient in a hair product or a probiotic drink.

Try new L'Oreal with Formula E. It keeps your hair soft and strong. Drink it too if you like, it'll do you just as much good as Yakult.

I think that 2 minute catch-up is all the qualifying coverage we're going to get. An hour of preamble and only a cursory nod to the first competitive session. The BBC's Formula 1 coverage does the same these days. Do these people engage with the viewers at all, I wonder.

Of course they dont. I dont think they have a clue what the viewers want to see.

And that was a wonderful insight from bar refaeli wasnt it. If I were her id be keeping a low profile after the photos of her were released last week.

And now its time to have all atmosphere drowned out by a **** attempt at a dj piping in music

It'll all be OK once the race starts.

Hope so. Looks interesting so far with half of them apparently crashing in ten minutes of qualifying and now half of them failing to get off the grid at the first go

The best part so far has been listening to the sound of the cars. Sounds like theyve all got a kitten taped to the back of the car

They'll be racing on a street circuit in London next year apparently, would love to see that with F1.

Well it set off a bit dull but I like the ending. I'll have a bit of that every time

That could have been a lot worse.
