I know there was a post last night re. Alan Nixon, but Gids just confirmed it on the twitters Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Time to pop off over to the Oldham forum and start spouting ******** about him. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Jonathan Forte is a good League 1 striker but in all fairness, we can get better taking into account his injuries.
This is where everyone on here who wanted him, will now say he's $hit and we dodged a bullet. The Oldham fans who said they weren't bothered, will now be claiming he's a world beater I must say, the reports on him at their end were split. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank fck cant believe anyone thought it would be a good signing, terrible every time Ive seen him, attitude problem, failed and farmed out at pretty much every club, if Johnson's net is only being cast as wide as Oldham and Man U academy, this season is going to be as painful as the last.
Neither disappointed nor relieved by that as I don't know enough about the player. Pleased to see the medical is rigorous enough to find problems though. We've been stung by signing injured players in the past, so good to see we can now spot them.
It's interesting this. Johnson obviously knows his past, knows his injury record etc & will have discussed it with the powers that be (I hope). They've had enough confidence despite that to put in what will have been a 6 figure bid. Hope it's a medical decision based on his test and nothing else.
I think he would have been a good signing if he was fit and committed. He has the talent at this level. However im pleased the deal is off and not surprised. Oldham have had to 'manage' his fitness. This means playing him for 2-3 games then resting him, part time and controlled training etc. I think he wouldn't have given us a 10-15 game run in the team. Shame but he has had a good season in front of next but we move on.
It'll be interesting to see if Abou Diaby manages to pass his medical, at West Brom. If he can pass a medical, then it shows Forte is properly f*cked.
Let's have a look at what we could have won.... Unlike others, I'd always thought he was a threat when I've seen him over the years. Great pace for a fairly big lad, reminded me of Vaz Te a bit actually. Scored plenty of goals last season for our current manager. It was a yes from me. However, I'm not going to whinge about it. If he's failed a medical then that's that. Be interesting to see how he gets on at LOLdham this season though.
