Barry cotter s long throws are all foul , he’s well over touch line on west stand lower side last night
He does it a lot. Luke Thomas was also guilty of two foul throws at the weekend. It's as though officials no longer know what a proper throw in should be as they are very rarely pulled up these days.
Rule changed I believe. You used to have to have your whole feet behind the line, now you just have to have part of your feet touching the line.
What about the invisible 19-yard line for the Penalty Area, which referees always ignore. Every goalkeeper seems to be outside the box when they release, and not all of them are in the air.
Throw ins, goal kicks, corners. All now ignore the white lines. The rules are now so ridiculous that allow this.
Don't see point in his long throws. We never look like scoring from one and it takes ages to take it.
Same with keepers. So many kick outside the box. Never ever gets noticed. But what I find weirder is the oppo players never draw attention to it. Would be an absolute gimme free kick in a dangerous area, and the keeper on a yellow. If I was on the pitch I'd be having a word in the linos ear.
Most throw it forward into the air from inside the box then take a step forward out of the box and kick it. People seem to think that because they're out of the box when they kick it using their foot that it's somehow handball.
It would be such a refreshing change, were a player to put the whole of the ball in the quadrant at a corner. I don't see what putting the ball as far forward as possible can actually achieve.
Back in the ‘90s the thrower had to have his feet on or behind the line where the ball went out of play. So he could have his heels on the line and his toes inside the playing area and take the throw. As long as he didn’t rock forward and lift his heels up off the line it was ok.
Almost every throw-in I've seen at Oakwell in recent years have been at least on the line and sometimes a foot over the line and should have been foul throws. They are ignored these days apparently.
