http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/virgin-money-football-fans-index-1889152 Footballs all about the fans right?
Everyone knows how much Tottenham and Arensal pay but there fans are cash rich fans. It doesn't say which clubs find it expensive and i don't think the figure alone does that ever. I would say West hams from looking at the list but again it's in london.
Just because they live in London doesn't mean this is necessarily true. What a load of *****. Its overpriced and screwing the fans.
That article lost all credibility in its opening sentence. "Arsenal fans pay most for a season ticket, about £1,470" Well yes, if Arsenal fans choose to buy one of the more expensive tickets then yes it can cost that but if they choose to but the cheaper ones it's £500 LESS than the Mirror makes it out to be with the price coming in at under £1k.
It also claims that the average price for a Wigan fan is £278. In actual fact the average full price of a season ticket at Wigan is £332. Even if you are an existing season ticket holder renewing in their 'early bird' period and taking advantage of the early bird offer and the existing season ticket holder offer it is still more than the £278 claimed
I wouldn't say £500 is splitting hairs is it? They say it costs almost £1500 to watch Arsenal. The reality is that adult season tickets at Arsenal start at under £1000.
Average price of a Chelsea season ticket. Mirror Claim: £1000 Reality: £907 Including family stand: £868 Third club i've looked at at random. Third false claim by the shitty paper that is the Mirror
Yes a grand. To watch 97 minutes of 'entertainment' a fortnight. No matter how many time you try to pick the article to bits it doesn't excuse the fact that football is outrageously expensive for what it is. Didn't you once do value for money compatibles eg cinema and so forth?
You don't have to be rich to pay those prices, you just have to make some sacrifices...like not going on holiday/not pay £70 a month for a top Sky package. I know people who go out every Saturday night and spend a lot more than the cost of an Arsenal season ticket over the course of 9 months - they aren't rich but that's just what they wanna do, just like other people want to go to the football every Saturday.
I'm not trying to say that it's good value for money. I'm just saying that the article is essentially just a load of made up numbers to try to get a reaction.
it's how it goes. Cricket at lords on thursday for England vs new Zealand AVG at over £50 pound per ticket. Wouldn't like to think what they would have been for first day. Was offered a ticket at OT for i think the Saturday and it seem to cost a bit. i said no because it's in football season. Sport cost a lot of money.
Is this a more fair table? Cheapest adult season ticket prices at all Premier League clubs and Barnsley. There are 3 premier league clubs where it is cheaper to buy a season ticket than it is at Barnsley. There are 10 premier league clubs where a season ticket works out at less per game than the pay on the day price at Barnsley. There are 13 premier league clubs where a season ticket works out at less per game than last seasons pay on the day price at Barnsley.
