on paper we have the worst run in IMHO but as we know, football is not played on paper. I hope we go to Reading with some belief in our own players and not just hoping to "keep it tight". Play Devaney and Hammill and have a go. Also, tell Anderson to gamble at the front post when we are getting crosses in, as we usually only have two in the box. As for Davey, I really could not care less. I think he needs to go as he has lost a lot of the fans - he was chanted at away at Watford even at one nil up, but I cannot see Mr Cryne gedtting shot. So prepare yourselves for SD being in charge next season regardless of the division we are in. Others are crying out for Steele, but for me Muller needs a chance to put things right. And in any case if the Scunny reject had not contrived to hit the keeper at Wtford from four yards out then it would all be academic.... We can still stay up...we all needto believe - especially SD.
Four games left to save our season.......our club.......and large parts of our town ..................if we go down there will be a massive knock on effect
No there won't It'll have no effect on the town what-so-ever. There'll be a fair few pissed off fans, but they'll get over it in the summer and if we start next season well they'll be happier than they have been for a while. Some people vastly over emphasise the importance of football. It's important to me, but I'm one of just 10,000 dedicated fans from a town with a population of 220,000 plus. Relegation in to league two with have little if any effect on the town. Absolutely nothing compared to the current economic climate and the lack of employment opportunities.
Oh I don't know For a kick off, Wuzbro Res will be dessimated by the relegation. Some herons were reported last night to be "gutted" and "seriously thinking of relocating to the Costa Del Sol." Over at Wigfield Farm a **** was visibly deflated, a pair of tits were at an all time low and a beaver was a long way from home. A bloke walking his dog commented, "The dire football situation? The Miners Welfare football is in the river again is it?"
The status of the football club can affect the economics of the town ............in saying that, the economics of Barnsley as a town compared to others has always been rock bottom I can't think of one large privatly owned employer in Barnsley If you took away the council workers, teachers and other related government workers, then what would be left in Barnsley?
I'm saying that relegation will not just impact the club ........it will also impact the town Therefore, its not just important for the club that we stay up.........its also important for the town as a whole
