You never know if a suggestion on here can get picked up on by the club. If so then I reckon Roy O'Donovan of Cork City would be worth a look. Currently the top scorer in the Eircom League with 20 goals in all competitions, at the halfway stage. Out of contract in November, and refusing to sign a new contract as he wants to go over the water. Only 21/22 years old, has been on international duty with Ireland. From the club that produced Kevin Doyle.... yet all the local fans reckon he's better than Doyle. He also used to play for Cheltenham Town, so the Devaney/McCann connection may help. Currently Hull, Notts Forest and Watford all having a look. Rumours that Fulham are also interested. Ady Boothroyd was at the City game on Tuesday night where O'Donovan scored. So he's available (at the right price), bags of potential and no language problems....... Check out squad info in http://www.corkcityfc.ie/home.htm
sounds like he's worth a look, but with a few other clubs interested, it may turn into an auction. I think if we are to get a fourth striker before the season starts, I would prefer someone more experienced. We have Stan who's only got half a season behind him in the Championship, Mostto totally unknown, Kayode moving up a level, so someone with experience would be a useful addition, maybe even to come on as sub and nick the odd important goal.
O'Callaghan & Healy Brian is usually a "Super Sub" (sic) for City. If you thought he were carrying a few pounds at Oakwell u should see him now !! Healy has been a revelation since getting the OK to play on 1st July. Consistently MOTM and head and shoulders above the others on the field...
Well it's a fact people working for the club are monitoring this website and telling certain higher people about rumours and such. So ya never know.
