    Ince's first mistake

with his medical history Fowler probably won't make 15 games

That's £25k/wk back in our coffers as far as I'm concerned. Better spent on a couple of younger, hungry strikers.

    16 games & 6 goals £81250/game or £216667/goal. Bargain.

Oh, and I forgot about the operations in the States & Switzerland and the months of rehabilitation. But they're cheap enough aren't they

Would have expected a bit of payback from him for a wasted season tbh, but just another mercenary footballer I'm afraid.

Hope his properties are suffering in the credit crunch :D

    Fair play to him

That man talks some ***** - up there with Sam Hammam :D

Still, I suppose he's got to justify being the 5th highest paid Chairman in the country - and that's before bonuses!

All Fowler did was sell a few extra shirts - but not the 32,500 needed to just recoup his wages.

Who are the other 4 top paid chairmen in Wales? Has JFH gone or did they give him a second year?

You know what I meant :D

JFH is no longer with us - has taken up a post as a pundit on SKYs Soccer Saturday by all accounts.

Apparently, he'd agreed to waiver the second year option in January after being told he'd be released. The pay-back for him was that he'd be picked to play for the rest of the season. As this took him past the 23 games needed to automatically trigger a renewed contract clause he was laughing anyway.

Our Chairman & manager failed to get this verbal agreement to waiver in writing. Surprise, surprise, Jimmy turns up for training pleading ignorance.

Don't think the club have a leg to stand on personally, despite feeling they're in the right.

Anyone replaced them yet or in the pipeline? Who are the ins and outs at Cardiff?

Outs: Robbie Fowler, JFH, Trevor Sinclair - SAGA are gutted they've gone elsewhere
Aaron Ramsey, Warren Feeney, Willo Flood, David Forde (gk). Not sure about Michael Oakes (gk) as well.

Parry, Johnson, McNaughton & Loovens are yet to sign their contracts although the 1st 3 have verbally agreed - not that that means anything. Loovens is hoping for a Premiership move but will stay if it doesn't come through.

    Ins:
Commingues (full back from Swindon, 23yo international from some obscure country)
Ross McCormack (23yo Scottish int CF from Motherwell)
Tom Heaton (19yo gk on loan from Man Utd)
Dennehhy (19yo RoI international from Everton - who offered him a 3 year deal btw)
Mark Kennedy (147yo has-been from Palace)

We're touted with every striker out there tbh - and I don't believe half of them are serious. Pick any from Kris Boyd, Daniel Cousin, Jason Roberts etc. Freddy Eastwood has now gone to Coventry (Dave Jones reckoned we were looking at better than him, lol) and Marcus Bent seems to be the current favourite. Woohoo.

Knowing Dave Jones it'll be some veteran striker he's worked with before so I'm not ruling out a surprise bid for Steve Bull.

We had the smallest squad in the division last year and ultimately it cost us. Think we're down to 17 now!

Thanks for that mate, not a lot to get the juices flowing is there. Hows season ticket sales going compared to last year?

Nothing at all to excite down here at the moment and I can't quite believe that after reaching the Cup Final. Been nothing but bad news coming out of the club recently, a PR (how apt) disaster - other than our new stadium which is flying up.

Think we sold 8500-9000 S/Ts last year. Over 14000 sold for this year on the back of the cup run. Add to that the £5m from Ramseys sale, cup receipts in excess of £3m apparently, £2m from Chris Gunter etc. and the Riddler is wondering what we're moaning about when he brings in free transfers. Unbelievable.

Ah well, 1st game of the season tomorrow. 2 games actually - Merthyr (a) where I'll be headed & Carmarthen (a). Lets just say there'll be a few youth players playing. I'm taking my boots just in case.

I like your signing of Ian Hume btw, he's always played well against us over the years. A right nuisance.

Nice to see that both teams can play in front of larger crowds this season thanks to the cup run. Good luck for the season.

    Mates from their Liverpool days

Ince needs to watch the 'Old Boys network'
Cardiff spent most of the season paying Fowler's medical bills allegedly and yet surprisingly Fowler managed to get himself fit for Wembley.
    How does that work then?
I ask myself, how can someone like Fowler at his peak, and what he is now, - owning half the houses in lLverpool and whole terraced roads of houses in London have any hunger left for the game?
He can't have. How can he?
Unfortunately there will always be clubs as daft as Cardiff who will pay the £25,000 grand a week it takes to set such a player on and mostly because of their past glories.
In his prime, Fowler was one of the best predators and finishers in the world, but he is past it both on the pitch and playing games surely.
    All allegedly !
