if they do hold one and they vote to leave how hard will it be for them? they will spend more money on changing from the euro? or will they just keep the euro?

They wont get one -and even if they did I cant see them voting out, they would lose even more than we will if they leave.
also the whole EU would unravel if that happens. Also its the National Front thats leading the calls Marie La Pen makes even Farage look like a decent bloke.

Holland might get a vote though

Lets hope it's the Netherlands first.

They'll vote to leave and then the Eurocrats will realise the gravy trains over and the whole thing is tunring to rat **** and the whole thing will be reformed properly and we'll end up staying.

This will be made easier by Scotland voting to leave the UK if we leave the EU........

It's going to be messy - there will be opportunties. There will be casualties, but it's going to be fun!

I live in France and listen to France Bleu radio (sort of Radio 2 type channel). This morning they were having 'phone-ins on the subject of "Should France have a referendum too ?". Obviously a very limited sample, but around half of the people who 'phoned in thought they should ahve a referendum. In contrast, one bloke who 'phoned in said the EU should now accelerate to having uniform taxation throughout.........

    Re: Maybe and

I think this is a legitimate concern for us. There's no doubt we're a tempting trade partner for the EU, so the Leave campaign's insistence that barriers to trade would never be erected had some believability. But if other countries start looking like they might want a referendum of their own then I suspect the EU might consider using Britain as an example to show just how unpleasant they could make it for leaving countries.

They could try that I agree...it largely depends how strong Germany really is to resist it.

    Re: Maybe and

Watch the difference between the politicians.

Juncker is all for giving us a bloody nose to demonstrate teh EU's power (or maybe his own power)

Merkel and Hollande who's stock markets are doing 3% and 4.5% worse than our own post the decision - and whose voters would be out of work should such a trade war ensue - are much more concilliatory.

This is a very interesting dynamic to watch. Junker is beginning to have the look of Comical ali about him.

Ahh, what consolation that will be to the next generation as they struggle to repair the damage done to this country. I hope you enjoy the show.

First of all I'm on neither side. My view is that whatever actually ends up happening - things will be ok when the dust settles.

Conveniently you miss the flip side of the opportunities - opportunities that many youngsters have not had because for the last 15 years or so employers have hired Poles or Latvians with 5 years experience for the same price of a unqualified UK teenager - so many of our teenagers have missed out.

I don't think our next generation will struggle - i happen to have quite a few of them who are quite dear to me - I don't think they will sit and wallow in their own self misery and blame someone else for their misfortune that someone else did to them. In contrast I think this generation will rise to the challenge and make the best of quite frankly a horrible **** up brought on them by a bunch of racist and stupid people.

But then it's the nature of some folk to focus on the negative and ignore the positive. And it's the nature of others to pull their sleeves up and crack on.
