    RE: Well..

He had three shots (all on target) - Gerrard - two shots - would have been better off playing for Bradford Bulls.

3 shots all on target ? first half he had 2 "gerrard" like shots which went way over and wide because he couldnt connect with either right.

    RE: Well..

I thought that Lampard played very well. His shots kept the goal keeper busy and had me off my seat at least twice. We should be grateful we have him, not knocking him.

I say this, but I honestly feel that our midfield might be more balanced if we played either Gerrard or Lampard, with Hargreaves in the holding role to free the other man up. I get teh feeling that because both Gerrard and Lampard go forward they get in each others way a bit. Playing a dedicated holding man would free the other up more. Which one you'd drop is a nightmare though. Probably Lampard because Gerrard has generally been better for England. Having said that I still think he's a great player and will improve for England with time.

You would be better with Carrick in the holding role

and to be honest when Owen was replaced it might have been better to bring Carrick on and push Gerrard up alongsinde Crouch. But what do I know - I said Crouch wasnt good enough and its looking like I got that one wrong

RE: You would be better with Carrick in the holding role

Well, I know that Hargreaves isn't very popular, but I think he tackles well, he covers the ground, and he has pace and stamina. He does the simple stuff well. He's fantastic for Bayern Munich and he plays regular Champions League football. He's just not very well known, and he's never going to turn a game around so he isn't going to win people over. I can't blame him for not leaving Bayern to come to England and make friends with everyone - Bayern's a massive club. I wouldn't leave Munich for Spurs. I think he could be the key to getting the best out of either Gerrard or Lampard. What would also help would be both Lampard and Gerrard knowing that if they don't give 110% there is someone world class waiting to take over - a bit of healthy competition. Aside from that, like today, when the tiredness kicks in, you could take off Gerrard and put on a fresh Lampard (luxury!). I could be wrong about Hargreaves though, and Carrick is a promising player.
