Looked right at home playing sweeper today, until Dagnall's injury forced a switch from 3-5-2.

If we stick with this formation, he could be suited to that role. Reminded me of Gary Fleming there in the mid 90s, and there's no Nathan Blake around anymore to force him into premature retirement!

i know i probably have a man crush on him, but for the 100th time, he showed exactly why he's so important. he doesn't need lightning pace. his temperament, view and vision of the game is unparalleled in the squad. personally however, i think he would be better served in the middle. dawson a huge miss and he's the closest we've got.

tyrone1 will be along soon to tell you that bobby can't read the game. And that he is rapid. For me he is in his best position at CB. He knows the game. Him, Cranie and Kennedy, every week, let them gel.

normally would agree, but with crainie, foster, kennedy and mcnulty, i think we have enough. mcnulty under flicker looks a different animal altogether. i think our priority is in the middle. hull cut through it at will today.

You said he couldn't read the game and always relied on his speed, which had now gone so he can't rely on it. Fact.

and that he get drawn into the middle and forgets to mark his man

Playing a sweeper all he needs to do sis concentrate on the play in front of him rather than a specific man. Fasr better suited to that role and indeed will excel at it

He excels everywhere. I would say he wouldn't be much use in this system on the right as he isn't a wing back but anywhere in a back 4 and Bob's your man, just as he is for a CB slot in a 3. He could still do in job in the DM position. He reads the game well so can just play. Feckin legend.
