    Leg lifted once again, BFC.

Add that lost transfer revenue to the the cost of relegation.

I don't blame Steele for insisting on it, particularly with the drop in wages clause in there (who in their right mind would agree to this without a method to escape it), but it effectively rendered him out of contract at the end of the season with all the others, so the 'protection' of a longer contract was meaningless.

Presumably Crainie has similar in his contract. Hopefully, Kennedy's does too.

Was Steele's contract pre or post Don's departure? I can't remember but I'd hoped Mansford's arrival had seen the end of revelations like this creeping out into the open.

Good luck to Steele and O'Grady on their departures. Both leave behind fond memories of their service and both deserve better than we can provide them in their careers going forward.

whats your problem, there was also a clause in there that Lukes wage was reduced if we got relegated. by the sound of it, they only insisted on the free transfer clause once we asked for the wage drop.

also a free transfer on relegation clause is only actually worth owt if a club get relegated, it may never come in to effect

I don't actually mind now we know the facts. I was a little miffed yesterday as I thought we were giving him away but as we had inserted a clause in his contract giving him less money he was perfectly entitled to ask for a free transfer clause, he didn't have to action his clause but I'm sure we chose to action ours, hence he got a better offer and off he went

Alls fair if you ask me

Kennedy's agent is so good, he actually had a relegation wage-rise clause.
