Is there much variation in the features that are offered on the boxes? I wouldn't mind one but don't want to get one only to then see a much better one.
don't get any under £100. work ok for 3 months then nack up - keep freezing etc. just get sky as replaced mine twice
RE: Yeah Sounds sexy, what is the model, and how much can you store on the hard drive? Is it also possible to connect it to the pc via usb or firewire to create mpg / avi / wmv files?
RE: Yeah Check out the Humax 8000T. Complete with Hard Disk recorder, and great pix quality.
Been very happy with mine. About 140 quid.

Humax PVR 8000T 80 gig hard drive - stores about 80 hours I think. Unfortunately no usb or firewire but it does work really well. The software doesn't crash as happens on other Freeview boxes I've used. Its got a program guide that you can record programs by one click. The only thing missing is a series link although you can do daily or weekly repeats of programs you record. Well worth the money IMHO.
Do you have to constantly reboot it? Mother in law has a Nokia one and she's forever having to reboot it to get a signal.
Nokia boxes have real issues with the new compression system used on Freeview. Constant reboots and crashes.
