My pet hate it having a goal conceded from a corner which could have been avoided if a man was on the post. Its a schoolboy error, what happens if a man was on the post, a clearance that's what. Its the basics of defending a corner and what your coach teaches in a junior team Just don't get not putting a player on the post. I've been ranting all day about this and would have posted earlier if this dam site worked on my phone.
What about not allowing a free header in the first place, thus denying Henderson the freedom to pick his spot. If Wiseman had just jumped I'm sure it would've enough to deny Henderson the chance.
Wiseman should not have been anywhere near Henderson someone else (cogbba?) Should have been nominated bad decision whoever sanctioned it
A lot of our defending 1 st half was schoolboy , mvoto was chasing shadows and wiseman was left up against two attackers most of first half too , although we did improve second half
If we could actually mark properly we would have a numerical advantage in the box and wouldnt need players to be on the posts, waiting and expecting the ball to come to them showing how crap we are defending set pieces.
All he had to do was jump, even if he hadn't got to the ball it would've been enough to prevent Henderson from picking his spot or even getting a clean contact.
Noticed on corners yesterday , forest left 2-3 up front when we had a corner , whilst we pull everybody back , so even if we do clear a corner we av nobody up to hold it up
i said the exact same thing to my mate at work yesterday, don't get me wrong i'm not a Wiseman slater as i think so far this season he's not played fairly well but all he had to do was jump even if he knew he couldn't win the header by him jumping he would have taken time away from henderson to pick his spot and have a clean header on goal. sometimes we try to do the intricate difficult stuff when we can't even successfully complete the basics such as defending set pieces.
There was a free header at back post from a corner int first half which just showed the writing was on the wall with regard to corners, either nowt was said at haif time about it or the players didn`t take on board the message from Flicker.
