I was feeling confident on the day, because I knew Var was there to be used, and fairly, if needed. What followed though was the most shocking incompetence I've ever seen, with the refs and their apparent refusal to use it. We were shafted, no doubt about it!. Now the Fowls fans are complaining about it, which is pathetic to be honest.
You’re right. Genuinely think we were. There’s no other realistic explanation than corruption that day
Well yeah that's crossed my mind as well. The idea that an allegedly bigger club like Sheff Wensdy simply 'had to' win promotion that day, almost by any means necessary!. Against a team like us. I know it sounds ridiculous, but many neutral fans and pundits as well know how lucky they were to beat us.
I’ve so many messages from neutral fans telling me it’s a nailed on penalty. there’s no reason why anyone watching it on a video could conclude it wasn’t a penalty , apart from there being a hidden agenda. he kicks out, misses the ball and kicks kitching. Unintentionally but that’s irrelevant, it is a penalty, all day, every day. no doubt in my mind that something dodgy went on
The fact that it was Gregory both times as well, made it worse. I admit the challenge on him looked bad at first, and his over reaction was also disgraceful. But their refusal to check it with the help of Var slow mo, after already refusing to use it for the 'pen', was sickening.
Nope he explicitly told Giddings he was a "Wednesayite" at the start of the call. Tbh i dunno why he was rattling on about VAR spoiling the game, they'll be in League 1 a few times before they even begin to think about top flight football again
