"Forest or Wednesday - Who's the biggest?" Lots of penis waving going on. And in their non-SWFC section, they're asking "Barnsley or Huddersfield - Who's the biggest?" So, playing the penis waving game, who is the biggest? Us or Hudders?
They make me laugh There was a Wendy fan on praise or deedah at the weekend, said Wednesday were playing well then went off on one about why they're bigger than the blunts. Then a blunt came on and had a go at the Wendy fan about not talking about his own club, then did exactly the same thing, and went on about how dem blunts are a bigger club. Then when Rob/Andy/Seth (whoever it was) asked him about the game, he couldn't comment because he'd not been, but it sounded good. My clubs bigger than your club. What does history matter when you're stuck in the ale house league?
we're a small club with a better recent history then both Wednesday and Tudders in terms of league finishing positions that's all that matters int it
Yeah. As I remind the residents of Huddersfield they have naff all to come at me as during my lifetime we have..... 1) Beat them 7-1. 2) Knocked them out of the league cup. 3) Knocked them out of the play offs. 4) Been in the premiership unlike them. 5) Not been in league two like them. 6) Been to an FA Cup semi final unlike them. 7) Been in four FA Cup quarter finals in the last 15 years when they were last in the last eight 41 years ago. All they do is bring up crowds when they have a bigger catchment area and that they won the top league three times in a row back in the 20s. My uncle who's watched them at 115 different grounds to try and get 'one up' started bragging how they beat us in the Masters at Sheffield Arena when we were defending champs. They will use any little bit of information.
I wouldnt waste my breath arguing with them,,they've always thought they were a cut above us both as a football team and a place to live. fu@k 'em. wierdest lot are wednesday fans that are from the barnsley borough and call us dingles.
I certainly don't. It just seems to be a Wednesday thing. They need to measure their cocks a lot. Apparently, Gary Neville mentioned them as the biggest club outside the Prem on Sky last night, so they've even created a thread dedicated to him saying what a top bloke he is... I support Tarn because my dad did, and his dad before him, and his dad before him. If I'd have known that it was all about the 'size' of a club (****) I'd have copied my mates and been a Liverpool 'fan'.
If football has proved one thing in recent years, it's that size means **** all. There are some 'small' clubs punching above their weight in the Championship and above, and plenty of traditionally 'big' clubs now living in the Championship and below. I simply could not give a flying one who we're bigger than, smaller than or whatever. Ground size, crowd size and history count for nowt. I'm quite happy for the MASSIVE clubs to stay MASSIVE and for us to stay small. Just makes outperforming them that much sweeter.
I like Gary Nev but he is as deluded as them if he thinks they are the biggest cocks (club) outside PL. What about Leeds? They are far bigger cocks. Wolves? Brum? Maybe he did actually mean they are the biggest set of cocks? He must have.
Except that both Huddersfield and Wednesday have won the league 3 or 4 times each, which we haven't even come close to.
you are right, but its a long long time ago and in my opinion not really relevent to whats happening now.,,,gloating over summat from the 1930's is clutching at straws more than owt else..
This 'biggest club' argument has always been nonsense. It goes on in the Premiership between Manchester United and Liverpool and it's just daft. Liverpool were the biggest club team in Europe in terms of trophies won in the 1970s and 1980s, but since the back pass rule came into play they haven't won a league title, so it's obvious that Man United have been bigger for the past few decades. As Man United's ground and turnover has kept on growing, they've blown other English clubs out of the water. Lower down, it's difficult to know the criteria for the biggest club out of Forest and Wednesday. Certainly both of them have spent more time as a top club than a lower league club over the past few decades, but neither club has done anything of note for years. Forest had the purple patch over a few years in the late 70s and early 80s where they achieved a lot, but for most of the 70 years prior to that Wednesday will have been deemed the bigger club. At the moment I'd say it's neck and neck between them. As for us Huddersfield and Wednesday, over the past 30 years Wednesday have been by far the biggest club of the three and they probably still are, whereas Barnsley have had much more success than Huddersfield over that period. I think Huddersfield has more potential than Barnsley, if they can remain in this division for a few years, but it's a long time since Huddersfield have been able to consider themselves a big club. If Huddersfield are a big club then George Formby is still a big star!
I reckon we're probably the biggest club in the country... We've got a huge wadge of land at Oakwell, bigger than any other club I can think of. Algetmicoit
They bore me rigid with this 'we're massive' ****. I don't just say it because I hate the fowls but Forest are a bigger club IMO.
Firstly, with my pedantic and grammatically correct hat on (with apologies to Ronnie Moore!) it's not the biggest of two, rather the bigger; either way, it doesn't really matter, as the past has gone, the future is yet to come so we live in the present, so I guess we are as big as our last result, which was a defeat. Although thinking about it, that was in the past as well, so for the present we are looking forward to our next game against Bolton. "I think, therefore I am" - Rene Descartes "I am a pig, therefore I am Massive" - random deluded Owls fans "I am a red, therefore I am optimistic, pessimistic, happy, sad, misguided, overjoyed, at an all time low, at an all time high, what does it matter? - I am a red" - Northern Dreamer More to the point, "I am a red, therefore I am" - Northern Dreamer
I don't understand how they think they're a really big club, is it just on the attendances and size of their stadium? Does it not go on history, grounds, money, attendances? - Forest have a better stadium, 3 sides built in the modern era as oppose to a ground thats had no stand built since the sixties and refurbishments to old stands. - Forest have more money - Wednesday currently have bigger average crowds, a whopping 632 more than Forest - Wednesday have won one major trophy in the last 78 years, in that time Forest have won the First Division, finished runner up twice, won a FA Cup, 4 League Cups, 1 Charity shield, 2 European Cups and a Uefa Super Cup. Need we go on? Maybe they should be asking if they're bigger than Wigan. Sithi.
