Possession based but with forward intent. When the midfield receive it he wants them to turn and face forward, and trains players on their body shape and starting position to support this.

Overlapping wingbacks and underlapping centre backs to support the attack.

He will demand players reach certain ‘numbers’. Whether sprints per game, total distance run per game, minimum heart rates, etc. That is all part of the pressing game.

The pressing game means as soon as the opposition have the ball, everyone of Duff’s players will have been trained to know where to run and position themselves and they have to do it quick enough.

No room for egos. All players have a role and if they don’t have the dedication or desire to train to fulfil that role and hit their numbers they will be replaced.

We have overachieved for our budget massively. This was because not only were we tactically better than other teams, but importantly, also because our players were well trained to deliver those tactics and ran further, faster and harder than opponents

Sounds promising. Sounds like the uncompromising attitude Ismael showed when he took over.

Sounds like a similar approach to what Wilders Sheffield United side used to be like with the centre backs getting forward to support attacks.

Certainly sounds promising and he should bring a clear identity to the way we play.

That's at least 4 of our players on the phone to their agents.

I must admit after reading stuff about him since his name was linked to us, I’m cautiously (very) optimistic that he can get us going again.

music to my ears. get the ball, keep the ball, move towards their goal. if you lose the ball, work to get it back, then go again.

Liam Kitchings in for a rude awakening!
Be interesting to see what he can do with some of these players, Odour, Benson, Palmer etc.

Dint Benson play under Duff at Burnley U23s? Hopefully he can get him up to speed. But think Palmer needs to be offloaded. Kane and Wolfe my 2 starters for middle of park as things stand

Benson needs to drastically improve his fitness and his attitude to be considered for selection . Palmer simply isn't good enough

Not only did he play for him at Burnley U23s, it was Duff that convinced him to join after being released by Arsenal.

All good to hear felt that the tail was wagging the dog last season firm hand on the tiller is what's needed. The link that was posted of a interview he did he came across as the type of man we need he knows the league, cant be sure but ticks alot of boxes for me.

Good to hear. Organisation and discipline were lacking severely last season when we had 2 morons attempting to steer the ship! Hopefully Duff won't take any ****!

Don’t forget most of them played more or less that approach under Ishmael. There are differences but I think most would prefer that to the clueless direction from Schopp and Poya

Careful Jimmy. People will be telling you he only had a bit part (30+ games) and it was all down to Mowatt.
