Steve Foster (Crewe centre half) offered a two year contract. Another player, not named, also offered a contract. Asked about our own players who have been offered contracts Shepherd said he had received no indication whether they would sign or not but said he expected 2 or 3 to sign.
cant understand why some of them wouldnt re sign , just promoted , first team players ... extra cash no doubt
So, would it be Colgan and Kay and maybe Austin then. According to reports Austin is a doubt as Southampton are after him. I am bracing myself for both Hassell and Shuker to move on. I shall miss Hassell but Shukes had lost a lot of form since Xmas. All of this is nerve wracking!
Hassell and Austin would both be losses. That would make 4 defenders out already. Shuker's no loss whatsoever. Rather play Hayes on left and Devaney on right anyhow.
Stop shouting - I've got a headache I knew watching the game in the pub drinking pro-strength lager was a bad thing.</p>
Sorry Mr Sheperd but expecting 2 or 3 to sign is not good enough ,we have already lost Mcphail and lost out on Chopra so i think you should be trying your best to keep the rest of the team together. This is our first season back in this division and the last thing we want is to be starting out with half of the team made up of new players. I cannot understand why these out of contract players seem to be finding it hard to sign a new contract when we have just gone up!(dunno)
if he's had no indication....................... how does he come up with the "2 or 3" figure-it means he HAS had an indication to me!
So how do you suggest the club MAKE them sign new contracts? We cannot force players to sign. They will if they want to or not if that is the case. If Ozzie and Kay dont then I am sure we will get replacements and also we will get compensation as both are under 24
Hassell and Shuker will be weighing up their options. Its noticeable that the club are linked with replacements (Francis/Tabb), perhaps to hasten their decision making. I'd be astonished if Kay left, knowing how close he is to the 'club' and such..
That's what I was beginning to wonder plus is that why it's taking Foster so long to make up his mind.
RE: That's what I was beginning to wonder plus is that why According to Crewe he's looking for a better financial package than they can offer.
