Barnsley - Star poised to pen new deal 05 Dec 2005 12:06 Barnsley midfielder Richard Kell is set to put pen to paper on a two-month contract extension with the club, despite failing to make a single first-team appearance this season. The 26-year-old joined the Tykes in the summer from Scnuthorpe, initially on a short-term deal. The midfielder arrived with a broken leg, which he sustained playing for the Iron in April. However, he has now been given more time to prove his fitness and has agreed an extension to his contract which will keep him at Oakwell until the end of January.
"Back in contention by the end of September" I hope he's a world beater... Can't see him figuring this season to be honest..it's his head that will be the main challenge to get right now...
Chuff me, has he brocken his head nar as well. I'm Richard Kell I'm not too well I brock me leg and nar me ed. But arl be back by januaree its guaranteed you wait and see.
Mentally he may have to adjust to playing again. He's had 2 severe leg breaks that could have threatened his career. Scunny fans more upset at losing him than Hayes who they didn't rate, they fear he may never recover and become the player he was.
