As Barnsley need a win in Cardiff to get promoted against Swansea, players will leave in the summer whether they go up or not. Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City, Wigan Athletic, Chelsea, Darlington, Sheffield United and Leeds United have been watching players such as Chris Shuker, Bobby Hassell, Paul Reid, Player of the Year Nick Colgan, Barry Conlon, Stephan Mcphail and Scott Flinders. Barnsley have been rumoured to get Scarborough striker Michael Coulsonand Newcastle United striker Michael Chopra. Chopra will come if the money comes through for Scott Flinders from Chelsea. Gillingham defenders Danny Jackman and Brent Sancho will make the move to Barnsley as also will Walsall defender Ian Roper. Dean Lewington will come from MK Dons and striker Sylvain Ebanks Blake will come from Manchester United on loan. Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Stefan Oakes and Grays Athletic midfielder Glenn Poole will move to Oakwell. The biggest signing in the summer for Barnsley will be the £1million capture of Karl Hawley from Carlisle United and this deal will also include defender Matt Carbon moving the other way to Carlisle.
Jesus thats some two year plan!!!! Play off finalists then sell the lot and replace with any lovely person with foreign name.</p>
Sounded reasonable until "The biggest signing in the summer for Barnsley will be the £1million capture of Karl Hawley from Carlisle United and this deal will also include defender Matt Carbon moving the other way to Carlisle."</p> Utter *****. </p>
RE: Sounded reasonable until what about the contradiction "if the money come in for flinders" then in the next sentance we are shelling out £1m
The must av been good uns to watch Barry Conlan, they must av been somewhere different to us because i ant seen anything on him.
Some of our best players being chased by.... ...Wendys, Blunts, Hull, Leeds, Wigan, Chelsea and.........er......Darlington!!!??? (NOOO)
Roper - Walsall Looks as unlike a footballer as anyone everyone was joking around me that he'd just walked into the ground from a computer course. ... but was brilliant against us at Bescot until he got sent off.
RE: Roper - Walsall I agree,I thought he had a good game against us, untill the red mist dropped on him.</p> Walsall had nine league clean sheets and only conceded more than two once when he played, not bad in a team that finished bottom.</p> That was his only sending off this season btw and he has only received seven yellows in thirty one games.</p> Only problem could be his age, at twenty nine he might be a little too old to raise his game if we were to go up.</p> Decent center half at this level though.</p> http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=6877&seasonid=135</p>
RE: Roper - Walsall Agreed, he was holding it together at the back and dealing with all the stuff a centre back should without any fuss, when he went off they disintegrated.
