It is believed that Iron have placed a bid for Cheltenham striker Kayode Odejayi as they prepare to put a side together for next season's Championship assault.
Cheltenham have confirmed that they have received a bid from a Championship club that is enough to trigger a clause written in the big striker's contract.

The Robins are reluctant to accept the bid, but have no choice other than put the offer to the player, it is a six figure sum and would be a record for the Whaddon Road outfit.

"It is a substantial offer, of six figures, and would represent the highest figure Cheltenham Town has ever received for a player," said Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker.

"We as a club do not want to accept the offer, but under the terms of Kayode's contract he must be informed of the bid, and he can talk to the club involved."
