    STRONG TEAM SELECTED

Palace manager Peter Taylor has revealed that he will be selecting his strongest team for the next two matches as he looks to guide the Eagles to a good end to the season.

With a number of younger players currently knocking on the first team door, Taylor will resist the temptation to give them a run out as the next two matches could have a vital bearing on what happens at both the top and bottom end of the Championship.

Palace visit Barnsley on Saturday, with the Oakwell club chasing points for survival before high-flying Derby County are the opponents at Selhurst Park next Sunday and looking to secure an automatic promotion spot.

"I'll be tempted to name a young side for Colchester, but not before that against Barnsley or Derby," revealed Taylor.

"We will be playing our strongest team out of fairness to the clubs in our division.

"Barnsley are scrapping for their lives against relegation and will feel they only need one more win to stay up and Derby of course have been at the top all season and we'd like to beat them.

"I'm sure people like Birmingham, Sunderland, Wolves and Preston will want us to play the strongest team I'm sure.

"At Colchester, there is a chance I could use a young side though but if they have still got a chance for the play-offs then there is a fair chance I will be playing a stronger team."

Taylor has been saying for a number of weeks now that he is keen to finish the season off on a high and secure a top half place in the division and after winning the first three games of the season, he is hoping to end the campaign with a similar run.

"We're desperate to finish off in a very positive way here," he said.

"I think there has been a better feeling about the place in the last few months because we've done quite well and in the first half of the season we let ourselves down.

"We all know that we should be in a better position than where we are now and we need to finish in a positive way.

"It's about us getting three points for ourself on Saturday and nothing else."

Remember, if you can't make the trip to Oakwell, then you can always listen to the game live and direct on Palace World.
