Meanwhile the Reds have had a cash offer from a League One club for an unnamed member of the current first team squad, but the player has turned down the chance of the move.

The Reds have still not had their bid for Lee Williamson officially rejected by Rotherham United.

Even though the Millers have dismissed the offer, Barnsley Chairman Gordon Shepherd is still waiting to receive clarification that the offer has been turned down.

Does that mean we accepted the offer but the player turned it down?

I imagine so. It seems we're trying to get Devaney out of the club ( witness his goal celebration v Burnley)

How does that player feel now knowing that the club would have happily let him go.

    More quality management.

clubs accept offers for players all the time

and then personal terms fail. nothing new. doesn't mean the club doesn't want the player so much as the club thinks they'd be daft to turn the money down.

I agree mate, probably was devaney who was approached..but doubt he will go..he said he likes it at barnsley and has no urge 2 move on anywhere else at the moment, but that could be all just speculation. Personally I would like him to stay, he's a good player

That was aimed towards Steve Cotterill.
