[IMG] Boro will need to be at their best on Tuesday night against a full strength Barnsley side.

Tykes' boss Andy Ritchie, the former Boro striker, contacted Nick Henry on Monday afternoon to inform him of the move. Ritchie wants match practice for his first choice side and has chosen the seaside outing as the team's first test.

Nick Henry will also be parading his first choice team on Tuesday, following the disappointing 3-1 loss of the largely-trialist side at Ossett Albion on Saturday. With further tough ties against Sheffield United, Chesterfield and Scnuthorpe United lined up, Henry knows that his side needs to gel as soon as possible.

Chairman Malcolm Reynolds described the Barnsley match as "a real cracker."

"We're delighted that Barnsley are bringing their first team as it should provide a real test for the lads and hopefully a good gate. Barnsley have informed us that they are expecting a big following so there should be a cracking atmosphere."

Boro are hoping that admission prices of £5 and £2 will appeal to loyal fans and tourists alike.

BORO assistant coach Neil Redfearn will be leaving his boots off for the visit of his old club

The 40-year-old id focussing his efforts on preparing the Seasiders for the new season rather than giving his legs a run out.

The veteran midfielder has started his re-season sessions in fine goalscoring form though, bagging the only two goals in a behind-closed doors game between two mixed Boro sides on Friday.

He said: " I'll be sitting back tonight and having a look at how we are shaping.

" The game will be the perfect chance for me and Nick to have a look at how we do against a handy side from the Football League.

" Obviously the fact that the game is against Barnsley will be nice for me, but we are mainly concentrating on how our lads do.

" This is all part of the build-up to the Conference season, and the most important things is that we are ready for the big kick-off on August 13."

Redfearn added: " Things have been going nicely for me in pre-season. I managed my first two goals on Friday and hopefully I'll score a few more before we start against Hereford.

" There is a lot of competition for places in midfield now, and with one or two other additions in other areas I think we'll be about ready."

Boro from: Walker, Pecora, Nicholson, Foot, Weaver, Lyth, Baker, Cook, Clark, Bishop, Highes, Hackworth, Eccles, Quayle, Wake, Coulson, Beadle, Blott.
