I am not going to attempt the quality match reports provided by the main site contributors.

    My observations are however:-

3-0 flattered Barnsley, they were as equally poor as Town.

Roberts was extremely poor and I was suprised to see him emerge at half time. Maybe nobody else can take corners.

The defence looked slow of thought and deed and quite frankly ended up making a limited Barnsley attack look dangerous. Nobody amongst the defence took command and as a unit were very quiet. A worrying sign considering one of them is the captain and that we are well and truly in a relegation dogfight.

I went to todays match truly believing we can escape the drop and still believe we can. On todays performance though I fear I am just being a blinkered fool.

The debutants had differing amounts of time to show what they can do but Petr showed some good touches and I came away hopeful that he can add something to our attack. Aaron had too little time for a fair judgement.
A couple of furthers points whch slipped my mind.Town did come out all guns blazing in the second half but this just exposed the lack of pace in the defence on the few occasions Barnsley broke out.

We did have good possesion throughout the game but wasted it and amazingly never attempted to thread passes through the middle. To get the most out of Petr that is something we will have to start doing. Johnny Foreigner likes to receive and give passes to feet and I agree with him.

Yesterday we went wide everytime. Fair enough we have tall striker. Unfortunately Roberts on the right couldnt control a wet bath sponge. Bouazza on the left can control it, he can beat the defender but he cannot cross accurately. To short too Long.

I believe the Rotheram game (mouthwatering indeed) will see Town with most of our first choice defenders suspended. After yesterdays display of speed, determination, aggression and character we might be better off with the second string.

On a personal note this was my first game of the season and I have taken up the three game deal. I appreciate it was cold but it was shame not to see a bigger attendance with the deals on offer today. I am not criticising stay aways just observing that the offers claerly didnt strike as bigger chord as the club probably hoped.

Atmosphere was good on a very cold afternoon and despite everything I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I think we've played much better this season and I thought Swindon were very poor and yeah there defence was slow especially their fullbacks which Shuker and Devaney took full advantage of but I thought we were *way* better than Swindon. I think most of the Reds fans there thought so too given the fact that Easy... Easy... Easy... was being chanted from when we first scored. I never really doubted that we'd come away with 3 points. Can't remember the last time I thought that.

I think the guy's being a bit biased there.
