isn't Foster a centre half ? or doesn't he match up to height requirements ?

'Can play anywhere along the back 4' - utility man in other words. And at 5'11 will not compete against the likes of Kevin Kyle.

Pissing about with loannees, foreign journeymen and not signing 2 quality Championship level-experienced centre halves will improve knob all.

    Agree mate ... 2 words .... "Darren Moore" ........

........ now he would be a signing who would make a difference ...... and we could have signed him if we had saved some money on some of the others we have signed

Maybe, but he, or someone similar, .............

.......... is exactly what we need, and have needed for as long as I can remember, big, strong, experienced and a leader.

No doubt he would cost a bomb, in transfer fees and wages, but in my opinion it would be better to spend the cash on somebody like him than 5 'gambles' who may or may not be up to it

    Wage structure prevents it

very difficult to sign one player on loads more money than the rest of the side, not good for team morale and causes all kinds of problems and instability. much better that everyones within a bracket, hence why wages are used as a reason by lots of clubs, not just us. sensible approach if you ask me.

    Not sure about that ..............

........ would be interesting to see the variance at some of the top clubs then, can't see Darren Fletcher coming anywhere near the salaries that Rooney and Ronaldo get.

Maybe it's more relevant at smaller clubs but in my opinion, players should get paid what they are worth to the team, if that means the likes of Darren Moore (as say the most senior player and captain) gets double what the likes of Hassell, Reid, Devaney etc. gets, then so be it

    Too many Championship big spenders

when there are a few clubs interested in a player, it becomes an auction, idiots like Ridsdale and clubs with parachute money mean even if we were prepared to offer a player 10 grand a week, you can guarantee he'll get a ridiculous offer elsewhere, thats how agents work. Having said that, we did put a very good package together for an experienced centre half that was above anything he'd been offered elsewhere, only for his current club to decide to offer him a new contract on stupid money.

Yeah, know what you mean .........

............ too much money to play with for some clubs and not nearly enough for others, the fact is that no matter how much we offer for any decent player, we will always be outbid, quite easily, by other clubs in the same division, lets hope it all goes tits up for them, like it did for Leeds!
