Barnsley are willing to let Grant McCann go and he is in Scnuthorpe's radar

    At Least Worth 250k

All speculation though at the moment. A replaceable fringe player.

ScnutHORPE have got Barnsley's Northern Ireland midfielder Grant McCann in their sights.
The Tykes have agreed to let the former West Ham and Cheltenham player leave this month

Spoke to McCann last night, he said the club had turned down a bid from Scunny for him.

I hope we aren't gonna be giving players away!

Sheffield Wednesday seem to "big up" quite a few of their players and have got more than good money for some of them.

    Bughera; Brunt; Whelan; Beevers; etc...

McCann is a bit more than a "fringe player" and I'd be a bit surprised if SD let's him go easily.

Well I think McCann is decent. Don't think he's really had a sustained run in the team. If Howard left I could really see McCann making that role his own.

    really?

he was abysmal yesterday-why oh why doesn't he practice half an hour a week kicking the ball with his right foot? no great loss and if we can get some cash for him even better

Think abysmal is strong - wouldn't say he was brilliant, but it doesn't work having him in with Togwell & Howard - he needs to be central to get the best out of him. Just think he's a decent player who hasn't had his chance. Not saying he's better than Howard or anyone else - just he strikes me as an ok player. If he leaves I wouldnt be surprised to see him do well. As for pro players not being able to kick with both feet - that should be a crime. No excuses. They are paid to do just that.

and he doesn't/can't do it-there was an occasion yesterday where the simple ball was a little layoff with the right foot-oh no-he tries to do a 360 degree turn to get on his left and was dispossessed

Well i for one wouldn't be happy to see McCann take Howards place in mid-field. He is at best a fringe player. Sometimes he looks ok, then other times he is poor, that goes for Togwell too. If we are going to progress in this league then the likes of McCann , Togwell, Reid, Johnson, Ricketts and even Chrisensen should be allowed to leave in the Transfer window. Then with the squad reduced, we could bring in a bit more quality.

Before everyone jumps on my back at the thought of Christensen moving on, i know he hasn't been given much chance, but he dosn't seem to be in Daveys plans. Probably for his own good a move will benefit his playing career. Bring back De Silva and Macken, bring in another big tall bruising centre back and then we could hold our own untill the end of the season. But we must get rid of some of the squad, it's to big and some of them arn't good enough for this division. :)

McCann and Hayes in the same team! Is this going to save Scunny from the drop?

That also goes for Howard and you've just got rid of anyone who might take his or Da Silva's place if they get injured or suspended.
