"I want to play for Derby in the Premiership, that is my intention." Nyatanga played a full game for Wales in their 0-0 draw with the Czech Republic at the weekend. He won many admirers at Barnsley during his 10-match loan spell. Manager Simon Davey wants the 18-year-old centre-half back for the club's second season in the Championship. But the Rams' promotion leaves the centre-half with loftier long-term ambitions: "I know I have a lot of work to do to become a Premiership player. I just want the chance to show what I can do," he said. "It has been a fantastic season for us and now we have the Premiership to look forward to. Now I just aim to keep working hard to get my chance and <div id="ds-mpu"></div>make sure the club stays in the top flight. "I've had something of a busy season. I was on loan at Sunderland and have played a small part in their promotion and then I went to Barnsley, and feel I was able to help them avoid relegation. Then it was back to Derby towards the end of the season and I figured a few times in the run-in to promotion. "I don't know yet about what the future holds. But the bottom line is that I want to play for Derby, they are my club and I have always supported them. "I love playing for them and that is where I stand. I know I have been out on loan a long time, but I feel I made a contribution when I returned.." Meanwhile, Forest Green Rovers are celebrating the £47,500 windfall they will receive for Kayode Odejayi's £200,000 move from Cheltenham to Oakwell. As part of a tribunal ruling in 2003, Rovers receive 25 per cent of the profit made by Cheltenham, </div>
That is a blow. We could have the slowest centre back pairing in the leagu with Reid and Lucketti (when he signs).
I would expect him to say that - but it's also down to the Manager and if Nyatanga's not in his plans then I can't see him playing in the reserves for the season
I can just imagine: Reporter: 'Lewin, do you hope to be in Billy Davies' plans for the forthcoming Premiership season?' LN: 'No, I'm not good enough to play Premiership football yet, I want to go back on loan to Barnsley.' ff
Where does it say... ...that he has said 'No' to Barnsley? All he's said is that he wants to play for Derby in the Premier. Whether he is given the chance to do that depends on whoever is the Derby manager at the beginning of next season. If he is too far down the pecking order he'll be sent out on loan again and hasn't said he won't come back to us.
