And it is understood that he faces a cash fine, too.
Oakwell academy graduate Kay was unceremoniously dropped after the 2-0 defeat at Cardiff in February amid rumours of a bust-up with manager Simon Davey.
Kay and Davey both denied they had fallen out.
Kay was <div id="ds-mpu"></div>back in favour and outstanding in the 1-0 win over Birmingham on April 9 and has started every game since.
Kay's apparent indiscretions have marred club celebrations at avoiding relegation. He is one of several players out of contract at the end of the season but has publicly declared he wants to remain at Oakwell, his home town club.
n Barnsley boss Simon Davey is one of the nominations for the Championship manager of the month for April. Other contenders are Sunderland's Roy Keane, Steve Bruce from Birmingham and Stoke City's Tony Pulis.
Meanwhile Daniel Nardiello's six goals in four games have brought him a nomination for Championship player of the month.
He faces oppositiion from Andy Gray (Burnley), Jamie Cureton (Colchester) and Radhi Jaidi (Birmingham City).
Robbie Williams, who is on loan from Barnsley, at Blackpool has won a nomination for League One player of the month.</div><div class="ds-modifieddate">Last Updated: 02 May 2007</div>

    From a good source

Have heard five mins since that they've had another bust up on the training ground, kay had to be held back by others players to stop him from getting to Davey, so he could be on his way

Realistically, I would prefr to let him move on. He seems to fel that he is bigger than the club and is indispensible. I would like us to build a defense that omits Kay and relies on players who dont suffer from an inconsistent attitude. Kay, for me, is altogether too unreliable, despite his obvious potential...he , himself, might benefit from moving elsewhere.

As a fan he tells it like it is which I would want.

He doesn’t think he’s bigger than the club but maybe he doesn’t agree with certain things as a fan of the club he plays for

    From the official site.

    KAY MISSES WEST BROM TRIP

BARNSLEY manager Simon Davey has confirmed that defender Antony Kay will play no part in this weekend's season finale at West Bromwich Albion.

Speaking exclusively to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Simon said: "Antony will not play against West Brom at The Hawthorns this Sunday. There is nothing more to add".

Actually there probably is, like an explanation of why, but hey, what's it got to do with us how the club is being managed and the team picked?
