It hurts and not least because the 21-year-old would be looking to 2008-09 as his breakthrough season. The indications were good. He was noticeably a physically stronger player than the one signed from Scarborough two years ago, still quick and still a high energy striker. Manager Simon Davey was happy to let Coulson out on loan at Northwich at the start of the campaign. He came back after a difficult month and his performance and goal against Blackpool in the third round of the FA Cup convinced Davey there was a place for him in Barnsley's first team squad. Coulson has still only started four games but Davey has used him 18 times as sub, including against Cardiff at Wembley. He is probably quickest of the centre forwards on Barnsley's books and can play wide. A real impact player on his day. He came on against Leicester and created a chance for himself inside five minutes. There is no doubt he would have featured in Saturday's squad against Charlton at Oakwell and might well have started at Cardiff a week on Sunday. Instead Davey is left with a gap to fill on among his subs. Jacob Butterfield is at the forefront of the academy graduates. Out-of-favour striker Kim Christensen is also in contention. </div>
I wouldnt have said he was the quickest of our Strikers Surely that must be Kayode No chance of Christensen on the bench ahead of Butterfield
Davey would play Muller up front first!! Talk about hold a grudge for what ever reason. Says more about Davey as a manager than it does about KC as a striker though. The mans a numpty!!!! (N) (N) (N)
If Davey had any plans to play him at the weekend he wouldnt have played in two reserve games during the week!
