"It was a strange game at Oakwell," recalled centre-back Sam Hird, who was an unused substitute. "We played some of our best football all season in the first half and some of the worst in the second. "What made it worse was that we were leading 1-0 and playing well, and when they were reduced to ten men early in the second half following Darren Moore's dismissal, we should have gone on to win. "But to be fair we fell apart and conceded four goals without reply." Rovers will be without influential midfielder Brian Stock. Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll held a lengthy inquest into the loss at Oakwell and according to reports, there was some straight talking from all sides. The result helped bring about a change of tactics with 'discipline' and 'organisation' becoming the new buzz words. Following the international break, during which Rovers worked hard on their new game plan, O'Driscoll's men ended a run of six successive defeats by drawing 0-0 with Blackpool - a game they should have won. They were also unlucky to come away empty-handed from successive games at Reading and Norwich. "We've played well in all our games since the Barnsley defeat but we desperately want a win," said Hird. "Hopefully that will come tonight because we definitely want to prove that we are a better team than Barnsley. "It is a massive game for both clubs because they are down there with us and they will want to win just as much as we do. They are probably a bit like us in that they have played better than their results might indicate. "The have definitely got some dangerous players and people like Campbell-Rice and Iain Hume will be a threat. But we've also got some great players who can win matches. "I think it will be a tight game and that the first goal will be very important. I know we scored first at Oakwell and still lost, but it would give us a great boost to score first tonight. "Hopefully the stadium will be full and there should be a great atmosphere." Supporters' Club chairman Len South said Rovers fans would do their bit. "The fans have been tremendous this season considering where we are in the league," he said. "The fans understand that we are playing in the second tier of English football for the first time in 50 years and that it is going to be tough. "Having said that it is turning out to be a little bit tougher than we thought. The Barnsley game was very disappointing and we have a big score to settle. "We have a good record against Barnsley in recent years and we expected to go to Oakwell and win, and I think we would have done but for Darren Moore fouling Lewis Guy, who had a clear run on goal. "But instead of taking advantage of our extra man after Moore had been sent off, we fell apart and they scored four without reply. "It was the worst I have seen us play this season and the supporters will be looking for the team to put the record straight." Moore is expected to play his first game in the town since joining Bradford in a big money move in the mid-90s. A hugely popular figure with Rovers' fans during his two years at Belle Vue, Moore will be hoping he isn't a target for the boo boys.

The want to prove they are better than Barnsley? Is that why the played like a set of clowns the second half at Oakwell?
More of the same please tonight Sean. Your side isnot better than Barnsley, end of.

What worries me is the fact that they havn't won in about 9 games, we're normally the team to end those type of runs.
I don't think tonight will be a classic
Donny will be fired up- we need to make sure we're at the races. I genuinely believe we have more quality than they have but our passion has been lacking away from home all season.
If we can match them on the phyical aspects of the game I expect us to score goals and heap more pressure on Donny. They've shown how easily they fall apart when teams get at em.

My prediction: Doncaster Rovers Belles 3 Baaaarnsli Bumdogs 1 Pointless exercise anyway - you're both going down.
