He believes the sheer weight of quality United have at their disposal will help tip the race for the Premier League in their favour. Speaking ahead of tomorrow's trip to Charlton Athletic, Howard said: "This squad has enough to go up without a doubt. You've only got to look at our bench to see that. "In fact, you've only got the look at the quality of some of the lads who can't get into the squad at all on matchdays at the moment. "If we can just get the little things right then we'll be right there. "I want to get to the Premier League and that's why I joined Sheffield United. "I came here purely for footballing reasons and to further my career." Howard hopes United's attention to detail will pay dividends against opponents languishing at the wrong end of the Championship table. The Blades lost their eight-month unbeaten home record against Reading last weekend, but the 25-year-old, who expects to complete a permanent transfer to Bramall Lane in January, revealed confidence within the camp remains high. United head to the capital fifth in the table and Howard added: "I think we're within touching distance of everything falling into place now. "Because there are so many good players, everyone in the team knows that they've got to perform to stay in the team. James Beattie has been nominated for the PFA 2UP Fans' Player of the Month award.

I still think Howard should be recalled to rot in the reserves He is just being arrogant beyond belief now, especially bearing in mind the frosty relationship between the two clubs. The loan should be called off, he should be back at Oakwell to play in the second team and then, in January, put in the shop window again but this time at a more realistic price. It's only fair that a player who is good enough to compete with such superstars should be sold for his true value. Let's combine the transfer fee with a compensation claim against the thugs - let's call it a nice round £3million. Sounds fair enough to me...
RE: I still think Howard should be recalled to rot in the reserves We'd get nothing for him though in January! He could sign a contract with a new club and sit in the stands until next season.
RE: I still think Howard should be recalled to rot in the reserves If we've received a lone fee, I very much doubt we'd have the option to recall. Plus, we need the money, and it would just make us look petty and jeopardise some of the goodwill we have with the general public at present. Whatever I think of Howard, it would be unfair to punish him for Morgan's actions.
He didn't look out of place at Anfield He was as good as any of their midfielders on show that day. Maybe he wouldn't be up to it week in, week out, but I wouldn't completely rule him out. I know I'm supposed to say he's **** now that he's left us, but I always thought he was a good player and him going to Sheff Utd hasn't changed that.
Our best player of the last 2 years imho And I've said before I didn't think he had enough to step up to Premiership level.
There's a few excellent Champiomship players that couldn't quite make a sustained impact in the Prem - Darren Huckerby for one.

You could well be right He might not have what it takes. I hope we don't find out too soon because I don't really want to see Sheff Utd promoted.
RE: You could well be right Those fckers need a few years back down away from the Prem. Let's see McCabe and party giving it large then.

muppet - if he wanted to play in the prem he should have joined a prem club obviously nobody in the prem wants him. And sheff utd will replace him if they do get there - which will be so funny.
Correct Few people seem to understand that you can't recall someone from loan when the other club has paid a loan fee.
