The Keane machine set to be halted Five home wins: Simon Davey « Previous « PreviousNext » Next » View GalleryBy Simon Meeks Barnsley BARNSLEY boss Simon Davey will drill into his players 'Why not us?' before they tackle Sunderland at Oakwell in tomorrow's early start game. Promotion-chasing Sunderland are the Champion-ship's form team with eight wins and two draws in their last 10. "It's got to end somewhere and why not against us?" Davey stressed. Sunderland have been revived under the management of Roy Keane, soaring to fourth in the table. In 32 games under Keane, Sunderland have lost just six. They will bring more than 7,000 fans to Barnsley tomorrow for an all-ticket match brought forward to a 1.30pm kick-off on police advice. "There's going to be a big-match atmosphere, which the players should relish," Davey added. "Sunderland have been inspired by their striker, Dwight Yorke, they will be going into the game full of confidence, but we feel if we're right we can get a result." In 11 home games under Davey, Barnsley have won five and lost five. Sunderland are looking to complete a double over Barnsley. In October, goals in the last 10 minutes from Dean Whitehead and Chris Brown brought victory at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland have kicked on since then and have just completed a triple bill of games against the Championship's top three sides - Derby, Birmingham and West Brom. They have netted seven points against the high-fliers. Keane, though, has told his players they cannot take anything for granted against sixth- from-bottom Barnsley, who are just three points outside the relegation zone and fighting for their lives. He said: "We cannot be thinking the hard work is done, far from it. Barnsley will be just as difficult as our last three games. "There is a lot of hard work ahead and our aim is simple - to win at Barnsley. We want to be in a position where we can pounce if Birmingham or Derby slip up." Last Updated: 09 March 2007
