Howard and Reid are key figures in Davey's battle to avoid an instant return to League One and losing them would undoubtedly harm his chances of guiding them to safety. Certainly the controversy could not have come at a worse time for Davey who this morning refused to elaborate on a week with the power to shape a entire season. "I'm not going to comment on that," he said. "We are conducting an internal investigation and other than to say that then there is no further comment to make." Grant McCann made his mark on the weekend's big Euro

Championship qualifiers with a goal for his country. The midfielder scored in Northern Ireland's 4-1 victory in Liechenstein, coming off the bench as Sheffield Wednesday winger Chris Brunt's replacement. And it was a goal made in South Yorkshire as Sheffield United wideman Keith Gillespie supplied the centre for McCann to head home his 90th minute goal. McCann might find himself in coach Lawrie Sanchez's Northern Ireland starting 11 on Wednesday when they take on European Championship qualifying Group F leaders Sweden in Belfast. Gillespie is suspended from that game, having been booked again in Saturday's match at Rheinpark, Liechenstein. Lewin Nyatanga, the Derby County centre-back on loan at Oakwell, was in action in this weekend's Euro matches. He played the full 90 minutes for Wales in their 1-0 defeat by the Republic of Ireland at` Croke Park, Dublin, in Group D. Barnsley goalkeeper Nick Colgan was on the bench for the Irish for that match. Nyatanga will start Wednesday's game for the Welsh in Cardiff against San Marino. Colgan will again be among the subs for the Republic of Ireland who play Slovakia on the same night. Meanwhile Paul Hayes was expected back at Barnsley today after his loan at Huddersfield came to an end.

Why is it a dilemma ? They haven't been found guilty of anything and haven't even been charged yet have they ?
Fcking hell fire.

I don't see it as a dilema If they're fit , physically and mentally , then they should play . Unless , of course , The Star picks the team .
For chuffs sake!! Why should he ban them? Has their guilt been proven? No, has it chuff! They're innocent until proven guitly so, if fit and able, then they should be included in the squad.
Are you going to be on your best behaviour next month ? Or are you going to be raunchy , like last time ?
Here we go get ready for the flack In the event that an employee is accused of a criminal offence that would equate to an offence of gross misconduct at that employees workplace then most employers would suspend pending the outcome of that criminal offence, AND whilst they may conduct thier own investigation into such alleged offence of gross misconduct that investigation must not interfere with any such criminal offence. So the dilemma is as far as I see it is,, is the criminal offence an offence that would ammount to one of gross misconduct, if yes then suspend, if no then dont Simple really
What? You think Richards should play? Not sure myself. Although they should and they can have an elaborate reconstruction as a goal celebration!
The only dilemma for Davey Is whether he feels they will be in the right frame of mind to play with what is going on. Sem to recall that Bowyer was in his best form when his court case was going on.
