Leicester who lost 2-1 at home to Birmingham last night, travel to play-off hopefuls Preston on Saturday. Their last match of the season is at home to Wolves, another club with play-off ambitions. Before that Leicester visit Barnsley on April 28. Temporary Leicester boss Nigel Worthington insisted his Leicester side will win their battle with relegation if they maintain the form they showed in the second half of their 2-1 defeat to high-flying Birmingham. The caretaker manager castigated his players for their abysmal performance before the break in a period which saw the visitors coast to a comfortable two-goal lead. But the home side rallied after the restart and might have earned more reward than just Shaun Newton's consolation goal were it not for the excellence of goalkeeper Colin Doyle. Worthington admitted: "In the first half it was boys against men. We were pushed off the ball and conceded ridiculous goals. The <div id="ds-mpu"></div>players forgot all we had talked about and we were playing catch up. "But we had a little chat at half-time and sorted things out and marked a few cards and then in the second half we showed great energy and good quality and scored one goal and might have scored more. "With that sort of performance we will ensure this club stays in the Championship." Out in the cold Barnsley strikers Marc Richards and Paul Hayes were both on target for the reserves yesterday in a 5-1 win at Bradford City. Hayes opened the scoring in the second half, Michael Coulson and Richards hit two goals apiece. Bradford's consolation goal came from Ben Muirhead. Barnsley included Nathan Joynes who has returned from loan at Boston United. Barnsley Reserves: Letheren, Harban, Potter, Jennings, Atkinson, Holt (Butterfield), Hayes, Mattis, Richards, Coulson, Joynes (White). Unused subs: Smith, Fedorenko, Waggett.</div><div class="ds-modifieddate">Last Updated: 18 April 2007</div>
