    <div class="byline" id="ds-byline">By Paul Thompson</div><div class="ds-bylinetext" id="ds-bylinetext">Barnsley</div><div class="ds-firstpara" id="ds-firstpara">BARNSLEY striker Marc Richards was set to be unveiled today as Port Vale's new signing.
    </div><div class="va-bodytext" id="va-bodytext">He is one of at least five players being brought in by the League One club for a planned promotion push next season.
    Barnsley had earlier revealed that they are releasing Richards as he comes to the end of his Oakwell contract.
    The 24-year-old was wanted by Vale in January when a swap deal was proposed involved him and the Valiants' Leon Constantine.
    Port Vale would have received Richards plus &pound;125,000, but the deal fell through and Constantine preferred to stay put.
    Constantine's contract expires this summer and he is now studying his options.
    Richards was out of Simon Davey's team from February onwards.
