    Television replays appeared to confirm that the goal, which would have cancelled out Ched Evans' early strike, should have stood.

    The result leaves United languishing in mid-table having so far failed to live-up to their billing as pre-season promotion favourites.

    What do you think? Post your comments below.

    Despite admitting the Blades &quot;shot themselves in the foot&quot;, Montgomery told United's Championship rivals it would be a mistake to write them off just yet.

    Citing Lee Hendrie's return to action following injury as a possible turning point, Montgomery said: &quot;We've got to start working straight away towards the derby with Barnsley and making sure we do the business.

    &quot;I can't understand why Killa's goal was disallowed. I think the linesman must have been ball watching.

    &quot;The gaffer was right to have a real go at us at half-time about the start we had made.

    &quot;If we'd have started the first half like we did the second then we would probably have won the game.

    &quot;But we didn't and we've shot ourselves in the foot again.&quot;

    Montgomery added: &quot;We've got to <div id="ds-mpu"></div>take the positives from the second-half.

    &quot;Billy Sharp came on as a substitute and showed everyone what he's capable of.

    &quot;He's been champing at the bit.

    &quot;And it was good to see Lee come back to the team too because everyone knows what he can do.&quot;

    Meanwhile United, who are 13th in the table as a result of their defeat at Carrow Road, travel to Oldham in the third round of the FA Youth Cup tonight (7pm).
