Assistant boss Ryan Kidd said: "We're not going to get involved in a massive auction. "We've made him a reasonable offer. If he wants to play Championship football at a good, progressive club, he knows where to come." Blackpool manager Simon Grayson confirmed that Parker could leave. "I think it is still ongoing. I don't think it is dead. What do you think? Post your comments below. "It is down to Keigan and his representatives and Barnsley to get something sorted if that's what it is to be. If it doesn't get sorted Keigan will come back into our squad for the weekend. "Swansea and Forest were interested a few months ago. We've not had any bids acceptable like the Barnsley bid, so people can say they are interested or not interested, but until they actually meet the figure that we want then they are out of the running." Barnsley have confirmed they had no objection to Southend's request to switch their fourth round FA Cup tie to Friday January 25 (7.45pm). "They wanted it, we didn't object, we have a game the following Tuesday against Colchester, it gives us an extra day to recover for that," Kidd explained. Full back Paul Heckingbottom left Barnsley yesterday to join Bradford permanently. Barnsley have a reserve game against Sheffield United tonight at Worksop (7pm). Rohan Ricketts and Rob Kozluk have both been named in the Barnsley squad. Sheffield United could benefit from a quarter-of-a-million pound windfall after their FA Cup fourth round tie with Manchester City or West Ham was selected for live television coverage. Other fourth round FA Cup ties live on TV: Mansfield v Middlesbrough (BBC <div id="ds-mpu"></div>, Saturday 12.30pm), Wigan v Chelsea (BBC 5.15pm), Manchester United v Spurs or Reading (BBC, Sunday 2pm). </div></div>
Agreed. This paragraph sums up exactly what we should be saying: "We've made him a reasonable offer. If he wants to play Championship football at a good, progressive club, he knows where to come."
RE: Why not? True, but then we have Istvan, Odejayi, Coulson, Parker (if he signs), Mossto and Christensen...seems like too many strikers to be able to bring in Macken as well
