Oakwell boss Simon Davey did not disclose the player's name today but he needs defensive cover following Dominik Werling's departure. It is believed that Werling has returned to Turkey. Marciano van Homoet has been playing at left back and Davey could also use Rob Kozluk there. A scan on goalkeeper Heinz Muller's groin injury has not revealed anything serious and he was expected to train as normal in the build up to Saturday. What do you think? Post your comments below. Diego Leon kicked-off his Barnsley career in the reserves last night. The Spaniard, signed from Grasshoppers Zurich on January 1, had been held back awaiting FA clearance to play. The paperwork was finally cleared yesterday and the midfielder made his debut in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Worksop. Leon could be on the subs' bench against Norwich. Said Davey: "He played the full 90 minutes last night, it was a good introduction to the game over here. On a difficult pitch he showed what he can do. He doesn't give the ball away." Barnsley have dropped interest in Blackpool striker Keigan Parker. A reported £200,000 offer for the Scottish forward had been tabled and accepted but the deal collapsed because of Parker's wage demands. Davey told the club's official website: "In any negotiation process there is always a difference in opinion. It's safe to say that Keigan's opinion and the club's opinion differ." Davey is still working at bringing Lewin Nyatanga, Jon Macken and Anderson de Sliva back to Oakwell. n Sheffield United striker Geoff Horsfield, who also featured in last night's reserves match, could be poised to leave Bramall Lane with Doncaster Rovers and Scnuthorpe battling it out for his signature. Horsfield is understood to be interesting Iron manager Nigel Adkins and could be offered the chance to move on loan until the end of the season when a permanent deal would be discussed. But Adkins fears Rovers could hijack the deal as they look to win promotion. Horsfield has played two games for United this season. </div>
Davey Comfirming Star Story http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10309~1211515,00.html I agree we need more options at left back. With Werling gone, Homoet just in the early days and Kozluk injury prone, we do need more options down that side.
RE: Doubt Its German LB If Its A Loan Were Making Forgive my ignorance, but who does Clements play for now? and hasn't he be a long term injury.
From Wikipedia He's good at set pieces, at a good age and experienced at championship level vastly. Neil Clement would be a great signing........... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Clement
