Foster, usually third choice at Old Trafford behind Edwin Van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak, made his debut for Manchester United at Derby on Saturday after Van der Sar was injured and Kuszczak was suspended. Foster had been set to join Coventry on loan. Sorensen is out of favour at Villa and has not played a first-team game this season. Scott Carson is the No 1 at Villa Park with Stuart Taylor his understudy. What do you think? Post your comments below. It is looking increasing unlikely that Steele will return to Barnsley. West Brom and Barnsley have reached a stalemate over the 23-year-old keeper, who was a hero in the FA Cup fifth-round victory over Liverpool in February and has been ever present in manager Simon Davey's side since. For the loan to be extended for the rest of the season, West Brom stipulated that Steele's wages, which they subsidised last month, should be paid in full by Barnsley from now. They also insisted that Steele makes a permanent move to Oakwell next season. Barnsley are willing to comply over Steele's salary but do not want to commit to signing him beyond the end of the current campaign. The likely outcome is that Steele faces being frozen out of the cup semi-finals despite having links to two of the clubs taking part. "Luke will be back here training with us as far as we are aware," West Brom manager Tony Mowbray said. "It is a sad state of affairs but I like Simon Davey so I am not going to get into a war of words with him. It is unfortunate for Luke but there you go." Said Davey: "If I don't get Luke Steele, I'll go and get another keeper. There are a few out there." n Barnsley pair Lewi <div id="ds-mpu"></div>n Nyatanga and Daniel Nardiello have been included in the Welsh international squad for a friendly in Luxembourg a week tomorrow. n Barnsley say that they were not opposed to pensioners and children having concessionary ticket prices for the FA Cup semi final at Wembley. "There was a meeting down at Wembley about the semi-final, I wasn't there but our secretary Don Rowling was," Barnsley chairman Gordon Shepherd said. "There was a debate about the levels of concession and the clubs agreed that." </div>
It's sad that all this ***** is public, as regardless of what are the actual facts, to every person/neutral that believes every word they read, both West Brom and Barnsley look like they're pissing about with the lads emotions. The quotes from both managers do nothing to change that either.
RE: Ben Foster Would Be A Class Replacement **** sorenson turned us down before the liverpool match, wonder why he would come now summat to do with wembley.
RE: Wait a minute. Can't afford Steele, but Foster and Sorenson are TOP targets? WTF? nt its to do with the fact we don't want Steele on a permanent at the end of the season and west brom are only allowing him tocome back with a view to a permanent move in the summer - i think!
ferguson said after the derby match that.. even though foster played it was only cover for van der sar and kusack or whatever his name is,and he still wants him to go out on loan till end of season if the red devils were to pay his wages it would be a great move for him..fa cup run plus a relegation fight which would require him to be top of his game by the way sorensen didnt reject us...we could afford his wages
a week's a long time in football. I think Steelywill be back as soon as west brom give in to paying a percentage of his wages until be can sign him permanently on a salary that doesn't break our pay structure......just negotiating tactics (I hope)
Foster will play Weds night for Man U so better hope Van der Sar is fit for Sunday for them to let him go
He played last Saturdayagainst Derby as well! So I reckon it may be wishful thinking on our part. If not, thank you, Luke Steele and enjoy your day at the Cup Final!
Because they will only be loaned until the end of the season. The problem is WBA want us to sign Steele permanently, and are making that a condition of the deal. We won't break our wage structure to meet Steele's demands. Perfect sense to me.
Exactly mate. That's the point a lot of people are missing. There should be a lot of non-cup-tied keepers around that would love the trip to Wembley. I really hope it's Ben Foster.
