LEON ATTRACTS HIGHER INTEREST Next Story | Previous Story | Back to list 15:00 - 11 January 2007 Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt has revealed the club has had inquiries from two Championship clubs for top scorer Leon Constantine. The approaches have come since the January transfer window opened, but neither has yet followed up with a bid. Bratt said: "We have had phone calls, but that is the extent of the interest at present. We haven't talked money with them." The 28-year-old has fired 18 goals so far this season, having netted 12 in 30 games for the Valiants last term. Bratt has placed a £250,000 valuation on the former Torquay striker, who is out of contract in the summer and keen to keep his options open rather than commit to a new deal at Vale Park. He said: "That is the sort of figure we are looking for. I think a striker who has scored 30 goals in a year is worth that. "As regards a new contract, that is entirely up to Leon, but he wants to keep his options open."
Port Vale Are In........ cloud cuckoo land if they think they will get anything like 250,000 for a division three player out of contract in the summer.
