dont shoot the messenger but i can forgive Danny if he brings football back to Oakwell

Barnsley fans, according to a little birdy Merlin has been summoned to explain Saturdays diabolical performance, unrest grows daily within the dressing room and board room, the writings on the wall, all ready talks have taken place, the bookkeeper (last week) was right to some extent about the length of time that Merlin as,but he was way off the mark regarding who was about to fill Merlin's boots, the stocking filler is no other than, the man you all love to hate. .Danny boy Wilson with Eric winstanley being invited to the party table as well

even if he didn't get us promoted again, he'd do better than this bloke, and to be honest, I can't think of who else I think we could afford or trust. We'd definately be playing better football.

Didn't he recently get sack from Hartlepool?

    Sorry, wouldn't welcome him back.

Lets let them glorious memories be. It wouldn't be a good move for anyone . . .

    Judas Wilson?

The man only did what any one would have done.

He went from a small provincial Club to be manager at what was then a massive big City Club.

It's called bettering yourself. Whats wrong with that.

The board at the time should have gave him an improved contract if they wanted to keep him.

Lets not forget he was a former Wednesday player which no one seemed to mind when he played for us.

    RE: Judas Wilson?

I don't remember many people liking him when he played for us, and I also remember plenty of people groaning when he got the manager's job after the failure of Viv Anderson. If you asked me, honestly, I thought we were heading for the toilet on the day that announcement was made. Just shows you how wrong you can be.

I think most peoples problem was

He denied planning to leave and promised to stay with us and then a week later had gone

Many would have had more respect for him if he had either stuck to his word or not made the promise in the first place.

I'd have him back, I usually subscribe to the second time around dunt work theory BUT desperate times need desperate measures, if Danny and Winny did come back we would have a pairing of a Barnsley man who knows what makes the reds fans tick (ie ball on floor, pass and move, pleasing on the eye football) and a manager who provided that kind of football last time he was here. I wouldn't hold a gun to his head and demand promotion to the Premiership just as long as we got mid table stability playing the kind of football he delivered last time round. If as a by-product of that we got into the play offs or even promotion then great. COME ON PATRICK FETCH HIM BACK.

    Dressing room unrest?

Did anyone else notice the players all hugging each other and high fiving before kick off? Looked far from unrest to me...

But didn't the situation change? Didn't he want to keep Redders, but John Dennis decided a million was too good to turn down for someone his age? Thats a rumour I heard, and if that was true, then that adds a whole new dimension to the scenario.

I'd have him back like a shot. Seems to have got some excellent results already at a struggling Swindon side. The only team where he has done badly was at the Wendies - and that may just have been one leap too far at the time. I don't doubt his managerial credentials one bit. They say never go back, but some have done it in the past to some avail. I know he's no manager, but isn't Chopra in his 3rd spell at Cardiff?
